What data does the podcast collect?

Signal vs. Noise is distributed as a standard RSS podcast feed hosted on getmabs.com (Cloudflare Pages) with audio files served from Cloudflare R2. We do not operate a listener database and do not require accounts to listen.

RSS feed & podcast apps

When your podcast app fetches the Signal vs. Noise RSS feed or downloads an episode, standard web server logs may capture:

  • Your IP address (provided by your network)
  • Your podcast app name and version (user-agent string)
  • The episode or feed URL requested
  • Timestamp of the request

This is standard behavior for all podcast RSS feeds — it is not unique to Signal vs. Noise. We do not use this data for advertising or sell it to third parties. Aggregate download counts may be used to measure show reach.

Third-party services

  • Cloudflare — CDN, hosting, and DDoS protection. Cloudflare may log requests per their privacy policy.
  • Cloudflare R2 — Audio file storage and delivery. R2 is GDPR-compliant object storage.

We do not use advertising networks, tracking pixels, or analytics SDKs in our podcast feed or episode pages.

Podcast directories

Signal vs. Noise may be listed in Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and other directories. Each directory operates under its own privacy policy. We do not receive individual listener data from these platforms.
